Start Your Journey in Possessor(s)

During today’s Day of the Devs showcase, developer Heart Machine and publisher Devolver Digital introduced Professor Foss, a major character in the upcoming 2D action platformer Possessor(s). Foss is the first of four central characters to be revealed ahead of the game’s launch on PC and consoles later this year. You can check out the latest trailer below to get a glimpse of the animated short story.

In Possessor(s), players control Luca, a high school student trapped in the ruins of Sanzu City after a catastrophic demon attack. She is not alone as Rhem, a demon bonded with her. Together, they must navigate a city warped by interdimensional horrors. Professor Foss was once one of Luca’s teachers. The two cross paths again in the search for answers inside the hidden laboratories beneath their old school.

Players do not have to wait to dive in. A public demo is now live on Steam, offering the first hands-on experience with Possessor(s). The demo places players into the flooded streets of Sanzu, now crawling with otherworldly threats.

The early section showcases fast-paced platform fighter-inspired combat, exploration across the Skyscraper and Park zones, and the tense beginnings of Luca and Rhem’s uneasy alliance. Their survival depends on cooperation, something easier said than done when one half of the duo is a demon with his own agenda.

Possessor(s) might launch later this year. Until then, the demo provides a gripping glimpse into its ruined world and the story that unfolds within it.
