Horripilant Has Released a Demo for the Steam Next Fest

Crawl Through the Dungeon in Horriplant

The eerie world of Horripilant, a Vermis-inspired incremental dungeon crawler, is now open for exploration. Indie developer Alexandre Declos has released the free demo of the game on Steam ahead of the Next Fest. Blending the addictive progression of idle games with unsettling horror and point-and-click puzzle mechanics, it offers a fresh take on the genre. The demo is fully playable on both Windows and Linux. It will also be part of Steam Next Fest from June 9 to 16.

“Horripilant combines the satisfaction of incremental progression with intriguing horror point and click puzzles – something I haven’t seen in the genre, exploring what could be outside that main gameplay loop of typical idle games is something really exciting that I think will truly make Horripilant a unique game in the genre.” – Alexandre Declos

The demo offers an in-depth introduction to the game’s core mechanics. It provides uninterrupted gameplay up to level 10 out of a planned 1000, which totals approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes of content. Progress made in the demo will carry over to the full game.

Players will gather resources, fight grotesque enemies, and upgrade their equipment to venture further into the dungeon. Along the way, they’ll encounter strange powers and mysterious figures, including a cryptic meeting with God, offering powerful boons that alter gameplay in unexpected ways.

The demo is available in six languages: English, French, French (Québec), Russian, Spanish, and German. So, go ahead and experience Horripilant’s grim depths and incremental thrills by downloading the demo on Steam.
