Big News for Jötunnslayer: Hordes of Hel
Grindstone, the global indie game publisher, and developer Games Farm have announced that Jötunnslayer: Hordes of Hel will be launching on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in 2025. Ahead of the console debut, PC players can now experience a major new content update titled Svartalfheim Descent, available through Steam Early Access and the Epic Games Store.
In this new chapter, players descend into the realm of Svartalfheim, an expansive underground world of carved stone halls, vast mineshafts, and blazing foundries. This challenging new environment is home to the Svartalfar, whose relentless industry fuels the region’s many threats. Along the way, players will encounter Brokk and Sindri, two legendary gods known as Forge Masters and Rune Whisperers. Their presence introduces powerful new rune-based passive abilities that expand tactical options during battle.
The update also adds a new playable class: the Dwarven Warden. As the last of their kind, Wardens are semi-ranged tanks who wield a hammer and shield with heavy defense and crowd-control capabilities. Their appetite for food, glory, and gold gives them a unique flavor in combat. New enemies have also appeared across Svartalfheim’s mines, including troll riders, hobgoblin raiding parties, flying threats, and acid-spitting creatures. A massive new Jotunn boss awaits in the update’s climactic final act.
To mark the release, a limited-time community event titled Hobgoblins Everywhere begins May 13. Players can take part to earn exclusive weapons and a trophy, while also helping the developers test systems ahead of the full release.
All content introduced in this update will be available on consoles at launch. The updated roadmap also teases what’s still to come, including the realm of Helheim, a new god, another class, and the highly anticipated Endless Mode.
