For the past two weeks Mark Carney is speaking words that Pierre Poilievre has been saying for the past two years. Remember the party that brought this country to immense discomfort of all sorts… and don’t forget the party that propped it up to do it! Shuffle the same Liberal cabinet members… equals the same crap, just with a different sales pitch! Wake up, Canada, or we’re in for the same insanity we’ve endured far too long! Please vote wisely.

Head-scratcher
They say that with age comes wisdom. So why is it that polls are indicating the largest group shifting towards the Liberals, due to Trump’s tariffs, are those 55 and older. Have these people not learned anything in the last 10 years? Trump’s tariffs are not going to last forever but the damage the Liberals have and will do, if re-elected, will. It is already a daunting task to recover from the damage done to date. Another four years of Liberal rule would make it impossible.

JOHN FRY
(A prospect that, only a few weeks ago, seemed unthinkable)
Big Brother is watching
A person could be forgiven for believing the clock has been set back 40 years, and that we are now living in George Orwell’s 1984. Most Western leaders still refuse to accept that three years of sanctions, arms and money for Ukraine has failed to weaken Russia, and that Russia today is militarily, economically and politically stronger than ever. Instead, they cling to the dangerous fantasy that Ukraine can defeat its much larger adversary, if only western armies will enter the arena directly; an insane proposal that amounts to nothing less than WW3. Every day that a peace settlement in Ukraine is postponed, hundreds more sons and daughters needlessly lose their lives, yet our leaders remain enslaved by their witless imaginings of an imperialist Russia intent on conquering Europe. As they chant their mantra, “Ignorance is strength. War is peace.” I can only believe Big Brother must be smiling.

(A peace deal is vital. But let us not forget how this conflict began)
Libs won’t be tough
The current U.S. tariff strategy is contrary to everything I know of macro and microeconomics and 50 years of observing how business functions. Trump will do as he pleases regardless of who our PM is. I have always believed that this is just a strategy to wear us down before CUSMA renegotiations. The structural issues in Canada’s economy will survive Trump and we need to decide if they will be exacerbated by a fourth Liberal term or tackled by a fresh new Conservative government.
STEVE PECK
(Well put. There is a reason why Trump said he’d prefer to deal with the Liberals over the Conservatives, because he knows the Libs won’t put up much of a fight)
